Other systems have serious deficiencies in their design:

Single target plates that can not be reengaged before a slow and unreliable reset sequence.
Cable reset racks can only be set out so far.
The rope or cable is always subject to damage by splatter.
If you are set up in rough terrain a cable or rope will never do the job reliable.
